About

A closer look at what Korea is following

KoReADAR is an independent trend discovery service that identifies topics attracting unusual attention across the Korean web and shows the signals behind that change.

Several signals behind one ranking

Search lists, news rankings, entertainment coverage, communities, social networks, and video platforms reflect different audiences. KoReADAR groups related mentions into topics and compares each source with its own usual level. It does not simply add view counts from platforms of different sizes.

Each topic includes original links, recent trends, and signals by source. These help you distinguish attention across several platforms from a brief spike on one. This is an independently calculated ranking, not an official real-time search ranking from a search provider.

How to read a topic

  1. Choose a topic from the ranking. On mobile, tap the topic in the top bar to expand the full list.
  2. Open the original links and check their publication dates and context. A preview alone cannot establish the facts of a story.
  3. Compare the trend chart with the source signals. Evidence strength measures support for increased attention across sources; it is not a fact-checking score.

The page normally advances every seven seconds. Scrolling down on mobile resets and pauses the timer while you read. Returning to the top starts it again. You can also use the pause button in the header.

Korean and English

The Korean view uses the original wording. The English view includes automatic translations, which can misinterpret names or short search phrases; some translations may arrive late. Language models are not used to collect or rank topics. Translation is used only for presentation.

Limits of the service

The monitored sources are not a representative sample of everyone in Korea. Results can reflect the audiences and availability of individual platforms. Collection failures or downtime may delay updates, so check the timestamp on the ranking. See our methodology for more detail.
